Warning: I do not read 'chatbox', so if you /msg me and I don't answer, that's why. Send email (mjd-www-perlmonks+@plover.com) instead.

My name is Mark Jason Dominus.

My book, Higher-Order Perl, about advanced programming techniques in Perl, was published in March 2005 by Morgan Kaufmann. More information is available. You can order it online. You can also read it online.

I am a moderator of the comp.lang.perl.moderated newsgroup. I am the author of the Text::Template, Algorithm::Diff, Interpolation, Tie::File and Memoize modules. I am an occasional contributor to the Perl core. I wrote the perlreftut manual page. I was a regular columnist for The Perl Journal for two years. I wrote the back-end of Rx studio, the regex debugger in ActiveState's 'Komodo' IDE; this work won the 2001 Larry Wall Award for Practical Utility. I won second place in the 5th annual Obfuscated Perl Contest. I have given several tutorials, including the Regex tutorial, at the Perl Conference over the past several years. (See Classes and Talks for news and updates.)

I am no longer the managing editor of www.perl.com.

I have a blog which sometimes has Perl-related items.

My Perl-related web site is called Perl Paraphernalia and it will probably amuse you. Some of the more popular items include:

The other guy in the picture is named Placido. It's up to you to decide who is who.
