These are the last messages in chatterbox. The timeframe is normally 1 hour, plus all the older messages still part of the current conversation (with a break between messages of less than 10 minutes). If there is a lot of discussions,
chatterbot may have to limit the message count further to keep within the 64k node size limit.

A good morning everybody! |
| marto |
hey Corion, how are things with you? |
| Corion |
Seems the bad AI-storm is over. I should really look into getting the humans-only access from a different machine ready. |
| Corion |
marto: Besides the return of AI crawlers, quite good ;) I'm vaporizing some ponds by playing with AI coding agents, but I don' |

... don't see the vast improvement that others claim. But maybe these others haven't written code themselves before - in that sense it is an enabler. |
| Corion |
On the upside, it has enabled me to kick off some side-side-projects off the ground, as I only had to sit down to write the spec and not sit down and write the code ;) |
| Corion |
I hope you're doing well! |
| marto |
hanging on in there, a lot going on both in and outside of $work |
| marto |
would it be worth considering, at least in the short term using some AI blocking service like cloudflaire offers? |
| Corion |
marto: I think the Cloudflare thing would be the only thing that could work with our infrastructure since (self-)hosting something like Anubis to block requests doesn't help against the residential proxies |
| Corion |
The main brunt of the requests even gets directly blocked, but it overwhelms the IP ports/connection pool. But I'm reluctant to re-point the DNS (or even have Cloudflare terminate our SSL connections and giving them the certificate) |
| marto |
I understand the reluctance, but it may be the lesser of two evils, for a while, and at least give you (and whoever else is involved) some breathing space |
| Corion |
Yeah, but that's again some hassle with mediocre success propability and no easy rollback |
| Corion |
But yeah, maybe some similar, non-CloudFlare thing exists , without needing to give them the (managed, not by us) SSL certificates, or maybe simply having new (ACME) certificates is an approach |
| marto |
it's slop all the way down |
| Corion |
Yeah, I'm not sure how this will work out long-term, as I don't see that people will stop using vibecoded crawlers |
