My favorite superfluous repetitious redundant duplicative phrase is:
- From whence
- Absolutely certain
- Postpone until later
- ATM machine
- PIN number
- Each and every
- Reason why
- Join together
Note: Many phrases that seem redundant are not always so, for example "most unique" which compares contrasts of unique items, or to be clear, for example, "later time" as opposed to "later date" which has a slightly different meaning. A phrase is truly redundant when one word, by defintion, includes the other, such as "ATM Machine" or "Each and Every" when in the same phrase.

Is English the same as in Dutch? Is "Print out a document" used nowadays instead of "Print a document"
Dutch knew thre: "Een document afdrukken", "Een document printen" (anglisism), or "Een document uitdraaien" (from those old boxes with forms that had holes for a tractor.
I am utterly annoyed by the zillion of people the say "Een document uitprinten". YUCK!

I think it is the same. But, i also think although in some sense redundant, the term is not truly redundant.
A printer prints a person prints out, unless the person is a living printer and rolls the ink from his fingertips. :) Normally, the out is inferred, hence your irkage (?).

Do you count binary clocks under digital clocks (I do not). I have seen analog versions (using colored light) of binary clocks. I have also seen clocks that used the colors as used in resistor bands as digits.
update 2014-10-20: this is a clock that writes the time on a small whiteboard, erases the time and writes again (repeat). I'd say it is digital too :)

The Wikipedia article says "Most binary clocks are digital, although analog varieties exist", (and a look through Google images seems to confirm this) whereas my intent was simply to measure the preference for digital vs analog (irrespective of format).

There's a story behind this you might want to know.
Many years ago, I asked the gods to create a new poll ideas quest thread because the original thread got too long, longer than that famous PMD thread that anecdotally shouldn't be linked in the chatterbox because everyone following the link at the same time overloads the server. The gods agreed, and have created a new thread. Unfortunately, they have added a year number in its title. Since then, people got confused by seeing last year's number in the thread and keep asking for a new thread every year.
There's no real need to create a new one every year. In fact, it makes it more difficult to suggest poll ideas, because you have to search for suggestions in more threads.(Luckily if you know good search keywords, Super Search simply lets you search in the Quest section, but often it is more convenient to just load the full text of those threads.) Anyway, because of this confusion coming up all the time, we seem to be stuck and get a new thread every year.
Anyway, now I understand now so many commercial companies label their games or periodicals or other products with a year number in the future.

All in all, the question is really if a number's opposite is 0 (negation of value) or the negative version of it (same amount, but below zero). The knee-jerk response is the opposite of 4 is -4. But, i believe it would be 0.
The poll specifically asks on 1 as it is the commonly used value in boolean types and allows for other humorous answers.

A Monk or visitor posts a node with something inappropriate or otherwise malicious.
The node gets modded down by fellow brothers at the monastery, though not removed by NodeReaper.
The poster repents and wishes to make amends:
- Remove the offending part of the node.
- Remove the offending part of the node and add a message saying so.
- Replace the entire text of the message with an apology, and post a new message.
- Leave the node as is and post a new, redacted node.
- Do nothing and add a message of remorse in a related node.
- Do nothing.
- Wonder why anyone would take this seriously.

Didn't know there was a limit. Must the poll question be the title?
A shorter version: In response to a modded down post not removed by NodeReaper, the poster should:

Similar to When voting on posts. This is about considered posts.
When voting on considered posts:
- I dutifully read each post, its context, and the possible dupe (with its context) and vote accordingly.
- I read the post, read the consideration comment, and make a best guess.
- I just follow the advice of the considerer, whoever it is.
- I just follow the advice of the considerer, if i recognize the name.
- I vote to keep the choices balanced (either by divination or another account).
- I ask my Magic 8 Ball
- I indiscriminately vote to keep everything.
- I indiscriminately vote to edit everything.
- I indiscriminately vote to reap everything.
- Nada

In English, which of the following is correct:
- If you are writing an if-statement, use a comma to introduce the then-clause
- If you are writing an if-statement then use "then" to introduce the then-clause
- If you are writing an if-statement, then use a comma and "then" to introduce the then-clause
- Just do it in perl.

Oops. I guess i didn't search before posting that one. Thanx!
On the subject of checking earlier polls and suggestions, is there an easier way to check than loading all 9 nodes (past polls and the 8 suggestions)? Searching the options of past polls (prior to the suggestions) would require loading each individually, so i never did that.
It would be quite nice to have a specialized search.

My favorite alternative to the semicolon as the Perl line terminator is:
# | And everyone can argue over what its called. |
: | Semi-colons have been here long enough! |
(space) | Why waste an extra char? |
. | Stop right here |
LW | Give credit where its due. |
Perl6 | Everyone knows that's a dead end. |
Edited:
4/24 - Changed question (from: I want to change the Perl line terminator to:). Added table for clarity.

Firstly, you can't have a link in the poll title, only in the extra text under the title and the answers. Secondly, the right link is xkcd://1249.
