    This is a hard one.

Should I name web-sites like Gmail, WhatsApp for the web, and Twitter fav website or just a web-representation of an application that I (also) run on phone or tablet?

If I should include them, "Social media" would be top, as I can then use my keyboard and big screen to reply and share content.

Other than that, I use cron to generate local html that reflects things I hate to do on the official pages, like gathering release notes for my fav OSS or SW that I require for work. I HATE advertisements and not-used information on most websites, I also hate some of the fonts forced on me or the layout that was clearly aimed at people with preferences that do not resemble mine even remotely. If I use WWW::Mechanize and friends to just fetch the information I want to review on a daily basis, and generate static content that I can view in font/style/layout that I prefer, it makes my life on the web bearable.

PM to me requires a seperate client for the chat. They go hand in hand. (Thank you choroba for making a workable version.)

    So I chose "Other tech".

    Enjoy, Have FUN! H.Merijn

    > Sincerely perlmonks is still my only online community, as Perl is my only programing language

The quote is from my red thread and is still valid. Nowadays I lurk sometimes also on the #perl channel at freenode when our chatterbox is not so talkative.

Social Media? What is that? :)

"Other Tech" as in several Amateur Radio blogs and groups.io radio and electronics email reflectors.

Perl is my tool to use for radio projects. I'm now using the Raspberry Pi with the HiPi GPIO library. Perl's easy TCP/IP support is very useful for making localhost connections to other applications. I really dislike Python syntax.

Peculiar poll. Only one of the choices is an actual web site. Most choices are topics, which multiple web sites cater to; and many web sites (Wikipedia, reddit, etc.) cover multiple of those topics. Then a couple choices are categorizations of web sites, which can also overlap topics in myriad ways. If posting games & puzzles on Pornhub is what pays your bills, which answer should you choose??
