yes, but the minimum number of lines (or processes, to stay a bit nearer to the topic) that can be parallel, is two, not three ;-)

From what I understand are those disks just twice as fast for one IO process.

This doesn't mean the reading process can be efficiently parallelized ... (?)

And a very narrow bottleneck will still be very narrow after doubling it.
