I'm a Red Hat Certified System Engineer, I work at Rackspace Hosting as a Senior Linux Systems Administrator. We sepcialise in Webhosting and support CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu, and Debian

I have 1 Perl project that I forked from another abandoned project, I maintain this new project, which is remarkable, given that I am only on "Day 3" of "Learn Perl in 21 Days", and about page 50 of "Perl for Dummies".

You could say I learn better by getting stuck in to a working project than the linear "Hello World" approach. Though that definately has its place, I fell more motivated by the project than just reading alone.

The perl project is called apache2buddy.pl, and is hosted on the domain of the same name.

You can read all about it here:

http://apache2buddy.pl/about

The s‎crip‎t is hosted on the domain itself and was designed to be pulled down via curl or wget.

I admit that it is a very low key no frills website, but thats the beauty of it:

# curl apache2buddy.pl | perl

I mean, life just doesnt get better than that!

Outside of work I do brazilian jiu jitsu, Im a big lad, hence the nickname "urban sumo", I actually gave myself that nickname, I quite like it :)

See you around on here.

Richard aka "urbansumo"
