he came to a miserable end Indeed. And he wasn't the first, nor I suspect, will he be the last. I was just reading about another brilliant man who's invention should have changed the world; but time, place and circumstance mean that it did not and he died in less than salubrious circumstances. With the rise and rise of 'Social' network sites: 'Computers are making people easier to use everyday' Examine what is said, not who speaks -- Silence betokens consent -- Love the truth but pardon error. "Science is about questioning the status quo. Questioning authority". The enemy of (IT) success is complexity. In the absence of evidence, opinion is indistinguishable from prejudice. Some links for the uninitiated: Curta Curt Herzstark I guess the design was good precision engineering. The device is still available on ebay for about € 1000. And the story is really unbelievable. Update: It looks like reality was better than Steven Spielberg in this case.
