I try not to, but I also think it's important to point out that the notion that "just try it, you'll like it, it's great!" is not universally true.

    Perl 6 discussions being welcome doesn't mean that they are exempt of critical replies.

    I can hardly remember seeing any "just try it, you'll like it" here.

    However I'm strictly against mobbing away people who want a civilized discussion ...

    ... and I wonder why we need to repeat this disput again and again.

      I remember more than a few "People who don't like it have never tried it!" claims. I remember (especially on the Perl subreddit) one user who posted walls of text haranguing people to try Rakudo who had is own troll following him around mocking him. We eventually banned the troll.

      Gish gallops aren't against the rules.

        I talked about the Monastery, I don't follow reddit.

        Not sure how bad habits in a foreign board should be related to our own ecosystem.
