Check out related thread.

Do you really think recruiters will quietly confine their postings to a small area of Perl Monks that doesn't even show up under "Newest Nodes"? My experience with recruiters is that they will pose as a fellow tech person (not outright lying, but implying), or run you down with their car so they can give you a business card, or call you every &#@$* day for weeks until you finally break down and promise to send them your sister's first born kid as soon as he gets his CS degree.

Or maybe I'm just bitter and inclined towards doom-and-gloom soothsaying.

Anyway, what about linking? Instead of posting perl jobs here, post them in the appropriate spot ( or elance or and then stick a link in your sig or bio...

I think the general idea would be to have fellow monks that are hiring to post in a special section what positions and/or skills required for a job are. I seriously doubt that a site like perlmonks would be flooded by headhunters. I would gladly post a job description to perlmonks and go on about my usual monk life reading and replying to other posts without bugging everyone about a job...

I'm no headhunter and I have no inclination towards pestering people with job offering info! BTW: wanna leave Happy comPany? :o)

Sorry, I just had to tease.

Okay, maybe, possibly, I could concede the point. But I'll be grumpy about it. Frankly, I must question your logic -- a site like perlmonks is the holy grail of the headhunter. But maybe it will remain untainted.

And no, I don't want to leave Happy comPany. At least not for some fly-by-night operation in Rio... :-)

Rio? RIO?? Jeez, I wish I was in Rio...

Well, let me put it this way: there's nothing stopping a headhunter from posting as AM on SOPW, for instance, and we haven't seen any of that yet. I don't think we will either, because in a sense, I agree that perlmonks is the holy grail of the headhunters: they are in search of something that will never be found. :o)

I don't think that vroom's intention is to publicize(?) the site much, its probably the other way around. Not calling attention of the corp-hype-web-world is a good way to keep things clean and honest.
