If that's the right file then you should install one. DBD::ODBC::FAQ->How do I access a MS SQL Server database from Linux/UNIX?

Update: .odbcinst.ini is a hidden file, I think you may be looking in the wrong place.

I checked this: DESKTOP-J2QR254:~ raventheone$ odbcinst -j unixODBC 2.3.7 DRIVERS............: /usr/local/etc/odbcinst.ini SYSTEM DATA SOURCES: /usr/local/etc/odbc.ini FILE DATA SOURCES..: /usr/local/etc/ODBCDataSources USER DATA SOURCES..: /Users/raventheone/.odbc.ini SQLULEN Size.......: 8 SQLLEN Size........: 8 SQLSETPOSIROW Size.: 8 the file /usr/local/etc/odbcinst.ini seems to be empty.

If the config is empty you need to properly configure your installation of this prerequisite. The product documentation likely has some guides.

I install it but after the file is still empty. this is all way too complicated :-(
