I really enjoy using ruby for devops stuff, and building things in it when the time is right. I think the data processing things it does well are much cleaner than in perl, but frankly you are going to be really hard pressed to find something as elegant, simple and powerful as the ability to traverse and construct nested data structures perl affords you Three thousand years of beautiful tradition, from Moses to Sandy Koufax, you're god damn right I'm living in the fucking past
