in thread I am most likely to install a new module from CPAN if:

A hungry cat will eat whatever it can get -- from fresh killed prey to rotting (human) corpses -- it is the owner's of pampered house cats that believe that gourmet pet food is a good thing.

True. Still, they (cats, dogs, other animals - even wild animals) have preferences.

Still, they (cats, dogs, other animals - even wild animals) have preferences.

I have no doubt that they do; but for doting owners to claim they can interpret the postures and/or vocalisations of their pets to know those preferences. is up there with phrenology, astrology, homeopathy, acupuncture, crystology, creationism, feng shui, graphology, and many more which are not worth discussing, because in the end, if you believe, nothing I can say will dissuade you; and nothing you can say will persuade me.

And in the case of cat owner's knowing the preferences, mine is a position supported by case law -- at least in the UK -- in as much as, it is (now) illegal to make false claims (as in scientifically unverifiable) in advertising.

For (much) more info; see ASA.
