Ooh, flaimbait. Yum.
For reasons already cited "it sucks because it uses whitespace to group statements" or "Perl is better because it has default variables" don't fly. That's 100% pure opinion. Everything you list as why Python is better than Perl is '100% pure opinion.' Nothing there is objectively 'better' than anything else. 'Better' is (almost)? always a matter of opinion. What is 'good' depends on one's values and one's goals. The points I've shown above are concrete examples of why, even with best coding practices, character for character, and due to language design issues you will save characters in Python, and also shows specifically why it's easy to write tools to autogenerate Python module documentation without knowing any special documentation syntax.OK - so your argument is that 'Python requires fewer characters and is easier to document.' Here's where I have to stop. I am in clear ignorance of Python, never (not rarely) having used it.
