You should now be able to specify your own title when using the newlinking conventions for CPAN and linking to id's;
Now [id://979|Perl Master] makes a link like Perl Master which points to my home node. A link like [cpan://Memoize|Check out this cool module]
makes a link that looks like Check out this cool module
