I am really looking forward to seeing this! Has anyone to your knowledge WRITTEN a MUD in Perl? Seems like it'd be a lot more flexible & easy to code than, say, LPC.

I've heard of something called either PerlMUD or PerlMOO. It's on Freshmeat. Maybe both are on Freshmeat.

I'm currently working on writing a mud-driver in Perl. I haven't quite gotten to the point where I'm ready to share, but it's close. I based it on a module called POE that handles most of the socket code. I would also be interested in the scriptable mud client for testing purposes.
