And your comment serves what purpose, beyond fluffing your pedant gene? Unicode is the complete standard, not a character set or encoding. No shit Sherlock! But, as the files originate from many sources, it's quite likely that some will be in utf-8; and others utf-16LE or utf-16BE, and still yet others may be in utf-32...
