You cannot kick back hard feelings over things said publically in anger. While that post certainly did represent at least one person's opinion (and probably a few more opinions as well) it cannot be said to be a majority attitude. (At least not when stated that way.) Take a look in Worst Nodes for proof.

As for things getting better/worse. Well my personal impression is better. At least the little piece of the puzzle that I see has improved. Of course I cannot speak for others, but it would appear that people are finding that they can talk about and resolve their issues. If being married for over a decade has taught me anything it is that as long as channels of communication remain open, you are in pretty good shape. (-: The other thing I have learned is how important it is to work on keeping those channels open and in use! :-)

This is, of course, only my personal impression. And, of course, I am not claiming that things are perfect. But I don't think you should be overly concerned at this point.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
