A few questions that I would ask myself before commiting to go through the learning curve associated with Perl 6 for a new project:
- Where can I download a binary install for my system?
- Where can I find an indexed language definition?
- When will PerlMonks have a dedicated Perl 6 section?
- Does it run Ackerman faster that Perl 5 (Java, Ruby, Python)?
- Can I spawn threads faster than I can spawn processes?
- Can I share a single copy of my complex data structure between those threads?
- When will Perl 6 v1.01 become available?
- How much of a penalty is my pure Perl 6 code going to pay, for whatever Perl 5 backwards compatibility that is being added?

In the absence of evidence, opinion is indistinguishable from prejudice.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
