( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Hello, and welcome to the Monastery; a place where we love learning about Perl. It would be great if you wish to join us in that pursuit. At the moment it seems you have been asking a lot of questions that are not Perl related: Javascript with CGI, (OT) Javascript with CGI using different files, CGI button -onClick not working, as well as this thread. You've even gotten a few helpful answers, which may have encouraged you to continue with the off-topic posts.

For Perl, there's no better place than The Monastery (PerlMonks). But for other languages there are forums where questions on Javascript and HTML would be more on topic. For example, StackOverflow is designed to be language neutral. You could ask your Javascript and HTML questions there, and as long as you apply the appropriate tags and follow the guidelines for asking "answerable" questions, you'll be right on topic, and will get responses that aren't given begrudgingly. As long as you keep asking Javascript questions that have no Perl merit to them in PerlMonks, you'll continue receiving unappreciative responses here.

However, while I can't speak for everyone, I'm happy to put the past behind us and move on. So find something Perl related we can sink our teeth into, and we'll enjoy seeing you hanging around. When it comes to Perl questions, it is here where the atmosphere encourages thought-provoking discussion.

Dave

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
