What time is it?

O wise monks!

When browse the lists of nodes like "Seekers of perl wisdom" or "Perl Monks Discussion", I see the timestamp of the node without time zone notification and I'm not sure at what time these nodes where written. When I display the nodes with their replies, I get the timestamp of the replies in CEST (my local time zone).

  1. what time zone is displayed in the list of nodes?
  2. is there a way to display the timestamps in my local time?
Greetings

    Check the following about timezones:

      Hi, aukjan!

      Thanks for your answer.
My local time setting is right and it works where I look at single nodes and their replies. But it does not apply to the timestamps of the nodes shown in the main section lists ("Seekers of perl wisdom","Monastery Gates", ...).

You are right... I never noticed it before! I usually go straight to the node by selecting one in Newest Nodes. I don't know how to change that one... sorry..

New timezone-handling code was put in quite a while ago. As noted there, "most datetimes are currently still displayed using old code that doesn't handle timezones properly". We've converted more of them to the new code, but there are still quite a few places using the old code.

This is the perfect type of project for pmdev member(s) to use to take a stab at trying to write their first patch...
