The original bon mot was from Pablo Picasso. A guy in a restaurant asked him to make a quick sketch on a paper napkin. Picasso draw it. The guy asked him to sign it. Picasso said "OK, but then you'll give me 500 francs " (it probably was a bargain at the time...) "-500 francs? but it took you just a second!""-no,it may not seem so, but actually it took me 60 years".

I'm not making this up, but I heard the Picasso story years ago. I chalked it up to urban legend, but am hoping it is really true.

    Peace out.

And, of course, the cousin thereof. A repairman is hired to fix a vital machine. He listens to descriptions of what happened, what it sounded like before it died, and examines it in minute detail. He finds the vital area, pulls out a small hammer and pounds the one spot with the hammer. The machine works oncemore, and he hands the boss an invoice, $1,000. Boss asks why? $1000 just for hitting it with a hammer? Man says, for hitting with hammer, $1. For knowing where to hit with hammer, $999.

Oh I'm sure you didn't make it up, and I'm sure a great designer knows most legends about Picasso, too :)

      Cheers!
