A very useful discussion from my point of view. Each of tye's points makes total sense. tirwhan's caveat is understandable. Since different folks' ideas of what is most important are going to vary, it's worthwhile to see the different responses. I have found that in thinking about a specific subject, whether it be Perl or any other topic, putting together a "top ten list" can be a useful problem-solving exercise.
