It's been a little while for me, so I thought I'd whip something up to cheer myself up. Hopefully it brings a smile to your face as well :)

#!/usr/bin/perl {;$ _ =q(Ju st a nothe r Pe rl ha cker ,); s [ \s {2,}] {}xsg ;};$# =$_ ; {;s(: )(: : ];);} print $=;;

--chargrill
$,=42;for(34,0,-3,9,-11,11,-17,7,-5){$*.=pack'c'=>$,+=$_}for(reverse s +plit//=>$* ){$%++?$ %%2?push@C,$_,$":push@c,$_,$":(push@C,$_,$")&&push@c,$"}$C[$# +C]=$/;($#C >$#c)?($ c=\@C)&&($ C=\@c):($ c=\@c)&&($C=\@C);$%=$|;for(@$c){print$_^ +$$C[$%++]}

    How about a big smiley containing lots o' little smileys ...

    #!/usr/bin/perl $_=';^) 8~) :~) ;~) :-) ;-) :=) ;=) ;~) %-) 8-) %=) :-) :~) %^) :^) 8^) 8-) %~) :-) 8=) 8-) %=) 8^) :-) ;^) ;-) 8=) %-) :-) ';# |8-] y*:;8%*0-3*; #-) :-) ;-) :-O |%^) #^) :^) :-D :=) :^O) y*-^=~ *0-3*; s~(.) (.)\)~print+ (split$J,$" ."aehiJlmno" ."prstuy")[ $1+$2*4]~xeg;
      Whoops, thought I was logged in ...

      The above post was mine.  At least now I can vote on it :-)

        That's fantastic! Outside of pure art, I wonder if the ability to create obfuscated perl maps onto any practical capability--and if we had a version of perl which allowed one to write a program with source code which occupied a higher than 2D space would it permit something more than regular programming?? much too happy
    try this:
    #!/usr/bin/perl {;$ _ =q(Ju st a nothe r sad P erl h acker ,); s [ \s {2,}] {}xsg ;};$# =$_ ; {;s(: )(: : ];);} print $=;;
    a update: Actually for some reason i was just reminded about a story about two pubs across the road from each other near southampton, "the happy cheese" and "the sad cheese". The sad cheese was always empty and had to shut down.
