Along the lines of Anonymonk's suggestion, I'd say nodes over a certain age shouldn't appear in Newest Nodes. This could also be configurable, but with a default and a maximum. I would say 30 days would be a reasonable default (how many people really want to view a whole months worth of new nodes?). Maximum I'd say would be 6 months.

Of course, I realise there might be a fair bit of work involved in the implementation. Just suggesting a possible "ideal solution".

yeah, that would be great. I guess it should be pretty easy to filter out nodes based on age... At least, make a maximum number of nodes to display on Newest Nodes based on number of them or age.
