Contemplating the unknown. There is so much of it that I figure I might as well get started .... well...contemplating it. Should keep me busy for a while...or at least provide me with the opportunity to avoid actually doing something about the overwhelming volume of it. hmmm...wonder if I could write a script that could speed up the process of identifying it all..., might be the one time it is appropriate to write an endless loop...

Wishing all an excellent and interesting year!

My friends and I get together every year on New Years Day at a Portuguese restaurant. (We'll be doing it for the 25th sequential time in a few days.)

No matter what else may happen during the year, we know we'll see each other at least once...

To be accurate, the New Year starts on the day after Diwali. And that's just for people from the Indian state of Gujarat. In much of the rest of India, the new year starts from Yugadi (March-April.)

Happy new year whenever it might be!

Nothing special -- I think I'd like go out for some dim sum, but that's much more fun if you're in a group.

I also have a new machine with dual 1T drives that I've procrastinating making into my new RAID 1 NFS server -- haven't touched it in about four months. It may be worth while to wipe the machine clean and start again with the latest version of whatever OS would be best (suggestions welcomed).

... watching England retain the Ashes. I expect to spend New Year's Day watching England lose the Ashes.

My expectations having just been dashed, I now expect to spend the day watching Ricky Ponting's successor do even worse then he did. Commiserations (not heartfelt, though) to any Strines. :-)

I try not to go out on New Years eve. My dad always called it "Amateur Night" and over the years I have come to agree with him.

I like to visit ZOO - strolling is good head clearing. Once, at frosty 1st January, about -15C, penguins were caged in their house, but such small kangaroos frisked on the snow...

    Don't plan, but I will...

Come home before midnight and stop my doggies being scared by the fireworks. Yes, all you firework lovers make puppies shake in their furry little boots.

Spend Jan 1st washing living room carpet following failed dog reassurance. :o) (not that serious of course, I just put the TV on louder while the missus pours the grog).

have a good luck in new year!

Meeting up with good friends after quite a long time. The motto would be to "Avoid Hangovers" by " Staying Drunk". Cheers!

I got a really awful time last night, because of something of work.

But this morning, everything changed, i met one of my gorgeous colleague, she asked me to have dinner at her home at new year's day. Awsome!

I'll be with family and hopefully friends, watching college football (American football), probably eating too much and enjoying myself. I'll have to throw a nap in there, too. :)

    Happy New Year everyone!

I plan on trying to catch up on TV that's been recorded while away over Christmas, catching up on email and crocheting. I think the TV bit is going to take weeks, especially since most programs are set to record every week, so more is being added to the to-watch list every day.

I have two small boys. (9 months and 3 years) This morning, like every other morning they work my wife and I at 6am. Because of that, I decided to treat last night like any other evening.

Perhaps in about 10 years time, I will be able to party for new year again, but in the meantime, I am a parent, and that cramps my style for such things.
