ability to leave a personal note

by misty (Hermit)
on Apr 28, 2000 at 03:09 UTC ( [id://9503]=monkdiscuss: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

I thought it would be nice (useful?) if there would be a way to leave a personal message to others, like e-mail or some sort of guest-book. Maybe I haven't explored the site well enough yet?

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

Thats kind of a clumsy way to leave anything more then just, "Thanks for your help" or, "I'm a newbie... how do I post a question?"

On the other hand, maybe its good that a person needs to post anything more complicated then that. Someone could benefit from a post like,
      "
        Why doesn't my if-then work?

      if( $yeah_or_neah == 'neah' )print 'why not?';
      "
(I know the above snipit won't work - it has two major errors. But it would be weird if I gave an example that did work, because the question would be irrelevant.)

    Hi,
Don't think this is really needed. What is email for???
If you want a private message send a email.

Programming is all about not making things that are already there
email is handy, icq is easy, maybe for some irc ... But a website
is there for giving something public that everybody can read or share
    with others.

    My opinions may have changed,
but not the fact that I am right

Speaking of IRC... is there a Perl Monks IRC channel? If not, maybe there should be :)
