As a side issue, note that there is more than one way to 'use' a module.

Study of code and/or documentation of related modules often gives me useful insight into a problem, even if I decide not to use any of them.

Sometimes it is useful to reuse part of the interface. This standardization keeps alive the possiblility of actually using the module in the future.
