I'd seriously consider helping set it up. I wouldn't mind assisting in the running and maintenance, as well. *looks at the calendar* School aproaches. Actually coding Java (for the summer) keeps me busy. If we can find somewhere to run it though I'd squeeze out some time in order to get it running. As far as finding other developers and advocates of the language goes, I'll need help. I'm not a part of any online Java communities and don't know where to look.
Anyone know a good place to host a project as large as this could potentially be (and for cheap...)?
Who knows people like merlyn that our Java experts and community people?

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>

Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
