( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

I sometimes sorely wish that folks could disavow themselves of the notion that “I take XP personally,” because I don’t. (Gasp!)
You protest too much, methinks, insisting, again and again and again, that you don't care about XP and being downvoted, to the point that folks naturally suspect the opposite. For example:

If you are truly indifferent to downvotes, why repeatedly put forward the suggestion of removing them from this site?

Update: Added extra quotes from Re^3: Threads and signals in Windows (invoking the name), Re: Lots of votes with nowhere to go :-), Re^3: Fork Results in thousands of processes, and Re^3: How to deal with the fact that Perl is not releasing memory and others.

Update: See also Re^2: Huffington Post: "Let's Do Away With Anonymous Posting" and Re^4: Huffington Post: "Let's Do Away With Anonymous Posting".

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
