That's a diferent question from your inicial question. Now that you have a script that can run another detached from the console, how can you lauch it ? I've done it with an at command and a batch file that does a "d:\apps\perl\bin\perl.exe d:\dev\perl\rundaemon.pl" (rundaemon.pl is the inicial script). You may also want to read other discussions on PM about similar subjects : Perl as a background process on Windows NT/2000, WinDoze NT Automation Question, Cron Job??, Running Perl code from a Windows service, Running a Perl script in the background from another Perl script, Hiding Windows Programs Or you could put rundaemon.pl calling itself as a detached process.
