Your bookmarks should work again after DNS gets updated/propagated with the new box's IP address.   Essentially the same reason why cookies need reissued - issueing server was www.perlmonks.org, but the new box is (temporarily) just 206.170.14.76 with no DNS name.

At least, that's been my experience the other couple times His Vroomness moved PM since I've been here.

Update: As merlyn points out below, www.perlmonks.org is, for the moment anyway, just a redirect from old box to the new box's IP address.   I wouldn't be too concerned - vroom has always been waaay more responsive than any could ask for.   Doubtless things will be back to normal in no time.

Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
