like mr_mischief said, you sound like the perfect employer =)
you realize that everybody has weaknesses. most employers
don't realize that motivated people with weaknesses try
to develop their strengths.
but i would like to add that some people have to learn
to develop their own modules for CPAN. before a friend of
mine had told me about the YAPC::Europe in london i hadn't known
much about the perl community. the only thing was compl.lang.perl.*, at least. then i attended a YAPC myself
and slowly realized how much fun it can be to develop
modules and publish them. so some people need to be pushed there. of course it's difficult to know before.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
