Clear record. Hope that clarifies, but by way of explanation:

I did not chose to edit suggestions from others into a node I created because that would be tantamount to plagarism or fraud. And yes, I could put edit markup in while aligning other contributions chronologically, but that might make the list less easily readable... and should OGB decide to use this one, would almost certainly make doing so more work for him.

What is OGB? I was going to post your poll idea today (and it would be less work to do so if all the options were in one node), but I noticed some links were broken e.g. the Turbo Pascal one, or likely to break soon e.g. the Z80 one. Also the "K&R" link goes to the 1988 edition, so it may be better to link to Wikipedia where possible. If you fix the links, it can be used in the near future.	[reply]

1305 EDT 20150725: updated re Turbo-Pascal. Arunbear caught my mistake in the reference, and the 1989 Ed. (now in the list) is closer to [davies original suggestion. I have made revisions (as much as I could in accord with Arunbear's request at Re^4: poll ideas quest 2015), adding Tux' and davies' suggestions with credits and revising some links: The link for 'z80 Assy Lang' is changed from an eBay address to an Amazon address; no other satisfactory links were found.
