Mostly true, if you're talking only about "site" docs, such as the PerlMonks FAQ, the Tutorials, and so on.
But people are free to post nodes in which they link to nodes by
title, and it's best not to go wantonly breaking such links, at least without very
good reason. See, for example, How do I link to nodes on this site by title? :-)

The truth is we, as programmers, should understand the basic difference between using a node ID and a title and that is IDs should never change and most probably won't. A node title is a whole different story just because it's nature: a bunch of words. Words carry meanings, emotions, and so on, while numbers don't (at least not in the context of this discussion).
We deal with code, databases and stuff so we should know better =;c)
Anyway, as I've stated before, I understand your point of view and yes, I must confess treating words is more comfortable and easy than numbers.
