An alternate approach is to find
someone with more modules than time and learn the craft of maintaining CPAN modules from them. I'm sure that most CPAN authors would be more than willing to have someone under their wing who's willing to do some of the less appealing bits in order to learn more about the craft. You might find that there are some tasks you might be more interested in than you realize.
My criteria for good software:
- Does it work?
- Can someone else come in, make a change, and be reasonably certain no bugs were introduced?
