in thread server with IO::Socket::INET

ohh, sorry I missunderstood you, I pinged on the server machine. I pinged the address from client machine and it timed out.

    So, the server isn't visible from the client. Either they aren't on the same subnet, or the server has its ports cloaked by a firewall.

    The start of some sanity?

      I think it might be a firewall issue, also I have connected clients from my current server machine to a server on the current client machine before and that works fine, just not the other way around. Ill tinker with it, thanks so much for looking at my code :) -Rudolf
