Now why would anyone pick a username such as "<i>Dog and Pony</i>"? Well, <a href="http://www.jedihawk.com/jokes/poems/dogandpony.html">here is the inspiration</a>. It is a poem that I have taped up at my computer at work, and at least at my former workplace, it strangely enough gave me lots of comfort. Needless to say, that company was a dot-com hysteria, that now is no more - at least not in the internet sector.
<p>
I now have a lots less inspiring job, but at least it does involve more perl, as opposed to doing mainly java earlier. Between those two languages, I feel that there is very little one can't do though, they complement each other pretty well. And the new java 1.4 has regexps, XML and lots of other perlish toys that I will enjoy.
</p><p>
I am mainly using Win2k as my main work computer, although it is going out the window (no pun intended) whenever I find the time to set up a Linux workstation as I want it. In all honesty, the NT family isn't as bad as normal Windows, but I am not 100% satisfied. Otherwise I am working with Linux and Solaris mainly at the moment, and I have them working with both Macs and Windows machines - great glue machines, the *NIXes. :)

Wondering how you can message (or ignore) people like me, with spaces in their names? Just do <code>/msg [Dog and Pony]</code> and you should be set. Read more about it [id://163904|here].
