Strawberry Perl - Active Scriping Support for WSH

Tekky has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello All,

Is there an Active Scripting Engine available for Strawberry Perl?

Over the past few days I've been searched for a way to use Strawberry Perl with WSH (Windows Script Host), but have not found a way. If I try to run a script using WSH (i.e.: "wscript helloworld.pl"), I keep getting a Windows Script Host error indicating "There is no script engine for file extension ".pl"."

It's not as simple as associating the .pl file extension to perl.exe.

Basically what I need is the equivalent of ActivePerl's PerlScript (perlse.dll):

PerlScript - ActivePerl Documentation

Thank you in advance for any information anybody can provide.

Best Regards,
Tekky

I was afraid that would be the answer.
      Guess its back to ActivePerl.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? I can't help but wonder if you really need WSH support or if you just think that you do.

WSH support means you can generally use a script written in something other than VBScript to drive an application that provides VBA as a "macro" engine. Anything that avoids using VBScript must be good!

      True laziness is hard work
