in thread [Perl6] Can i put a operator in container

What follows is MHO.

  1. The name of the other language was and is a huge mistake. Anything(*) else would be better. Camellia. Rakudo. Whatever.
  2. If we could, by some miracle, get the name changed and get the language out of the way of "true" Perl, that would be awesome... but discussion of it would still be welcome here.
  3. All of the arguments have been fully thrashed and their bones lie bleaching in the sun. So please stop. There is nothing more to be gained.

(*) Not literally anything. "Java 19" would not be a good choice, for example.

I reckon we are the only monastery ever to have a dungeon stuffed with 16,000 zombies.

As for #1—I agree but I would not have in 2000 and that date is all that matters—that ship has sailed. Waving at it to come back on a biweekly basis is boring and unproductive.

I am asking everyone to honor #3. I didn’t start this discussion and I’ve let a half-dozen of these threads slide.

For #2, I would also support the idea but don’t believe it would work well. It would increase contention. I think the gainsayers would only be armed more strongly, and easily gather allies. “It didn’t belong here before, it’s not even pretending to be Perl anymore! Why do we still allow posts on this broken, late, incomplete, slow, yawn, yawn, yawn, yawn…”
