by mikfire (Deacon)
on Apr 01, 2001 at 21:16 UTC ( #68848=perlmeditation: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Doing my standard morning browse of the news and came onto this article on

To say the least, I am stunned. Does this supercede the perl 6 effort? Does anybody know more about what this effort is? Was this expected by Those Who Know More? Where can I get the interpretor?

Update: That's what I get for reading the news today, oh boy. mikfire

      print dollar_underscore;

      How would you say that to someone? "print dollar underscore underscore.... no, spell it out... no, just the last underscore... no, you spell out the dollar too..."

    What are they going to come up with a year from now, I wonder?

    Programming Phool, perhaps?

    Hard to believe this was twenty years ago. The original page can be read in the archive.

    To say I'm stunned is an understatement. It's going to take awhile to consider this... Does this supersede Perl 6? Sounds like from Larry's comment it does... I'd love to hear more from Those Who Know More too. Sorry if I'm just echoing your questions... but it's a shocking Monday morning and you asked all the right ones.

      Those Who Know More know enough not to trust a news item posted yesterday :-)
