    $cgi->remote_addr (CGI) or cookies.

    What do you mean by "track"?

    CountZero

    A program should be light and agile, its subroutines connected like a string of pearls. The spirit and intent of the program should be retained throughout. There should be neither too little or too much, neither needless loops nor useless variables, neither lack of structure nor overwhelming rigidity." - The Tao of Programming, 4.1 - Geoffrey James

    As poster above stated, CGI or Cookies are the easiest

    I'd recommend cookies, since you can normally track individual computers on a single IP using them. But you can't track them if they continually change cookies without either being a static IP and the only computer on that IP, or installing some plugin to identify them (IE what banking plugins do)

      Sorry my question was not very specific .....Suppose I find a IP visiting my website for more than 30 mins and want to identify the person or his personal information about him for that particular ip. How can this be possible, Is it possible to retrieve the information contained in cookies inserted by other websites.
        Contact the Police or FBI, obtain subpoena ...
        You can't utilize 3rd party cookies to obtain personal information. All you can do is supply them a questionaire and hope they fill in their personal details (unlikely) IP's can have multiple computers on them as I said above, so...
        There isn't in existence
