( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Disclaimer: I don't mean to start a flame war, I know it's OT, but I have to say this: (this is not a reply to Mr. Muskrat, it's a reply to __DATA__)

I get very annoyed from all this "God Speaks" stuff, and the fact that not only is it just someone's pure whim, it also is based only someone's assumptions about the whole concept and idea of God.

Keep using my name in vain, I'll make rush hour longer.

so God - if God exists - is vengefull. right? even I know better than to punish someone for doing something bad to me.

You think it's hot here?

so there is a hell, with a devil and all, and he'll make a stu out of me. And where exactly is my choice?

Don't make me come down there.

is God threatening me? does God create me and then he looses control of me? and then has to threaten me so that I can "come back"? sounds very weak to me.

Conclusion?

people, stop writing silly smart quotes and attribute them to God. I haven't graduated yet and I can point out weaknesses in them, I thought they should be all about wisdom. So much for God if God's wisdom contradicts itself.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
