Seems that a slight change in lyrics is necessary
------
Don't Fear the NodeReaper
apologies to <EN>BÖC</EN> and those that happened to rhyme for the following
All our nodes have come
Here but now they're gone
Abbots don't fear the reaper
Nor do the Saints, the vroom or the tye
We can be like they are
Come on novice, don't fear the Reaper
Novice take my hand, don't fear the Reaper
We'll be able to code, don't fear the Reaper
novice I'm your monk
dirty nodes are done
Here but now they're gone
non-perl trolls and bravismore
Are together in eternity
non-perl trolls and bravismore
40,000 lines of dreck everyday
non-perl trolls and bravismore
40,000 other friars everyday
Redefine happiness
Another 40,000 initiates everyday
We can be like they are
Love of Perl is vroom
Here but now they're gone
Came the last vote of minus
And it was clear the node couldn't go on
Then the door was open and merlyn appeared
The flames blew and nodes considered
The replies flew then he appeared
Saying don't be afraid, come on baby
And the node had no fear
And it ran to him
Then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodbye
It had become like they are
It had taken his hand
It had become like they are
Come on node, don't fear the Reaper

NodeReaper reminds me of the Everything Death Borg (EDB) from Everything for some reason. Can we put NodeReaper in the Chatbox, threatening to substitute people's nodes with trolls so they get voted down and then he can eat them too? ;)

An excellent idea! A few 'the node reaper rattles his bones' or 'the node reaper sharpens his scythe' comments to keep the conversation going.
Better yet, throw the Chatbot::Eliza module into the saucepan and then you can go to the nodereaper for help with your personal prombles!

Why not get a combined effort to get a Chatbot::Perlmonk going? :) Then it could be a standin merlyn for when he's on a cruise or something. ;)

He's not quite as cuddly as the EDB... there's something kinda cute about razor sharp spines and acid-dripping teeth...

All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain...
We can be like they are
Come on baby... don't fear the reaper
Baby take my hand... don't fear the reaper
We'll be able to fly... don't fear the reaper
Baby I'm your man...
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity...
Romeo and Juliet
Forty thousand men and women everyday...
Like Romeo and Juliet
Forty thousand men and women everyday...
Redefine happiness
Another forty thousand coming everyday...
We can be like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper
Baby take my hand... don't fear the reaper
We'll be able to fly... don't fear the reaper
Baby I'm your man...
Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared...
saying don't be afraid
Come on baby...and she had no fear
And she ran to him...then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodbye...
she had become like they are
She had taken his hand...
she had become like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper

Nodes that are previewed but never submitted have never entered the database. They exist only in the memory of the browser that is exchanging the forms.
That is, unless I miss my guess. (:

I think the node reaper is good to get rid of people, coping other peoples answers to questions. this will make the voting system more efficient, and not only that, the answers better. With better answers, we got a better community of perl programmers.

I would just like to take the time to ask a question to anyone who voted or will vote "All of The Above".
How can it be "Frightening" and "Not to be feared" at the same time??!
Or is he on some kind of anger-management drug, where he is kind when he pops a few pills, but frightening when he forgets to take them?? | [reply] |

I voted for All of the Above, and rationalized it as follows. The Node Reaper is frightening, in that he may cause fear among users here. However, he is not to be feared, as he only reaps nodes that warrant it, which is a valuable service.
Thus, he is feared, but the fear is unjustified.

I voted for "...not to be feared" and was just about to type in the lyrics for "Dont fear the Reaper" (-Blue oyster cult) when I saw that extremely, and lemming sortof, beat me to it.

I have a nephew (17) who *almost* got "it is foolish to fear

something. In the end (ahem) he went w/ the Blues Traveler's
cat on his shoulder. Point being ..., er, well the
justification sounds much more impressive in latin.

I voted all of the above only because I want to love the nodereaper and because he isn't to be feared as long as you keep the questions intelligent. Otherwise, then fear him!
