( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
I just thought about something which would be really easy to do and could be a pretty nice improvment for browsing from the gates (like putting new doors to specific sections of the monastery :-)

This mornning I found myself wanting to check out a post which was still at the gates yesterday, in the "New Meditations" section. So I scrolled down quite a bit to get there, because often the "New Questions" section is quite long, and then I realized that the post was not at the gates anymore... So I had to scroll back all the way up and click on the "Meditations" link at the top of the Gates page.

So why not making, for each section displayed at the gates, the words following "New" a hypertext link to the section itself? I you did not follow, here is an example:

New Meditations

just a thought...

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
