This is a good first step in reforming the voting system. However I do see the potential problem of too many "me too" replies.
The real solution to the current problems is to have accountability. We need to see who voted and how they voted for each node. That way if you want to know why someone downvoted (or upvoted) you, you can ask them.

<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
