Your appearance (or not) in Other Users also depends upon whether you checked the hidden login option (or whether it was set for you by, say, a certain option in a tool such as PerlMonks::Mechanized (beta)). IIRC, Other Users refreshes every 2-3 minutes, so you may remain visible for a brief period even after, for example, you login as hidden. Likewise, you may remain invisible for a period of time after you "decloak" by saying something in the CB.

How does one login as "hidden" ? And what's "decloak" (referenced by both planetscape and blue_cowdawg) ?

    Cheers,
    Rob

Check the box labelled "pretend I'm not here" here to login as "hidden". "Decloak" may be a reference to the "cloaking technology" that rendered starships invisible in Star Trek. Or not. ;-)

          And what's "decloak"

If you look at the Chatterbox nodelet under the text input field for that nodelet you'll see a submit button marked "decloak". At least on my browser anyway.

No such thing with my browser - perhaps it's a configuration issue, and part of the reason that I also don't know how to login as "hidden".

        Cheers,
        Rob
