Kind of depends on what you want to report as an error though. I'd think you'd want to be quiet if the file doesn't exist yet but whine if it exists and unlink fails (maybe the file or its directory got to be read only for you somehow).

<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
