in reply to Testing for randomness

While there are a few things you can do to check for randomness (such as looking for an even statistical distribution), a comprehensive randomness test is incomputable.

I was researching this very subject a while back. IIRC, a Google search for "randomness test" came up with a few good responses. It might also be worth searching the sci.crypt newsgroup archives.

I wanted to explore how Perl's closures can be manipulated, and ended up creating an object system by accident.
