In this lengthy -but very fascinating- article, Perl is mentioned only briefly. But I think it certainly qualifies as a Cool Use Of Perl when I see that our beloved programming language is used in the greatest bioinformatics project to date.

    I sure hope the MI complex dosn't use this for mind control.....we already are getting chips under our skin, this paves the way for chips in the brain. I guess the Brave New World has really arrived.

      Yes it is better that people continue to suffer than for science to upset people with parnoid and superstitious beliefs.
        Yes, that was what "Brave New World" was all about. You know... the Soma pill was for your benefit, so you wouldn't suffer. But it ends up becoming "you didn't take your soma pill today and you are starting to see reality....its a crime to not take your happy pill".
