Here is where vroom anounces the Perl News section; it just, in his words, "sucks news from the RDF from news.perl.org hourly."
The perlnewsbot is what gets (got?) the news. Here perlnewsbot talks about the source of the news changing, and also hinting that Perl News may be no more.
